We are proud to announce that The Hammond has secured a partnership with BAiD: Black Artists In Dance (@b.a.i.d_project).
We’ll be working alongside BAiD in order to better support diversity and inclusion in all aspects of school life and recruitment, and to further enrich our current provision going forward.
Furthermore, BAiD will be delivering a staff training conference at our next Inset in January.
BAiD’s mission is to create a physical and digital platform that responds to the educational and professional needs of those working within the dance industry. Aiming to showcase the contribution that black dancers, artists and academics make to the development of dance, specifically within the UK
We’d like to extend our sincerest thanks to BAiD founders Joyce Gyimah and Gerrard Martin for their openness and passion so far and thank you to Emma Thomas, our Integrated Arts Leader, for her constant dedication and guidance.
We are proud to be on this journey, working with individuals and organisations to initiate change with our actions, our words and through expanding our understanding of the culturally rich and diverse world around us .
