Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th: Conway and Spooky Baking

On Saturday 8th, Mrs Scruby and Mrs Gore ran a wonderful brownie making competition for the Year 8’s whilst our younger Boarders were enjoying their time away at Conway!

All students were given the same core ingredients, with a few different funky toppings and addition for their brownies. All of the groups worked so well and calmly under pressure, creating smartie brownies, marshmallow brownies and triple chocolate chip brownies to name a few variations.

Mrs Gore named India as the star baker of the day for being so helpful and caring towards others. The judges were so busy overseeing the wonderful students’ behaviour and tasting their wonderful creations, that we couldn’t capture any of the lovely moments.

On Sunday, we happily welcomed back all our Year 7 and Year 11 adventurers back from Conway, who were very exhausted. However, the lure of a trip into Chester town soon perked them all up and they were showered and ready within half an hour.

We also celebrated lots of birthdays this weekend at Kingsley Lodge!

On this week’s agenda, Halloween room decorations… and advent calendars. Some of which did not make it to Boarding before being eaten! As well as the usual weekly snack restock and trip to Primark, this trip consolidated a fantastic week for all the students!

They definitely will sleep well tonight!
