A huge thank you to former Hammond student Harriet Mills who, upon the news of lockdown, immediately got in touch and offered to deliver a number of classes, via Instagram, to Hammond students and the wider dance community. Harriet was keen to show that regardless of the circumstances that coming together to celebrate your passion for dance can be done at home as well as in the studio.

Harriet attended to The Hammond as a Lower School student for five years, graduating in 2007. She then went on to the Royal Ballet Upper School for 3 years, graduating with a job in Germany with the Badische Staatstheater Karlsruhe. ⁣

There, Harriet worked her way up to Prima Ballerina and danced roles such as - Odette/Odile Swanlake, title role in La Sylphide, Juliet in Romeo & Juliet, and Katerina in Taming of the Shrew.⁣

After ten years in Karlsruhe, Harriet is now in her first season with the Landestheatre Salzburg, so far having danced another version of Romeo and Juliet and other new creations.⁣

A huge thank you to Harriet for taking the time to do this, inspiring all of our dancers stuck at home ⁣
