Dear pupils and students,

Thank you very much for your responses to the on-line learning student voice survey. Your opinions are very important to us and we want you to know how we are responding to your views.

Firstly, it is wonderful to hear that a huge majority of you are really enjoying your on-line learning experience, particularly the live zoom lessons.I am very pleased that you are adapting to the technology well and feel supported with this.

The majority of you are finding plentiful time to take breaks and move from lesson to lesson. It is vital that you do take screen breaks when possible, get some fresh air and try out the exercises shared with you in assembly earlier this week.

The points you highlighted have been discussed and we have made some adjustments to ensure that you continue to feel happy, confident and fully supported moving forward.

Year 7 and 8 - I know you requested some additional varying styles of Dance lessons. This has now been organised for you and I hope you enjoyed your first session this week.

Due to this new way of working, Some of you are finding the amount of work you are being set overwhelming and are struggling to meet set deadlines. Your teachers have agreed to focus on this and make adjustments where they can- ensuring that you are still learning fully and making excellent progress. Your teachers will only set additional home-learning where absolutely necessary or if they feel you need further challenge for progress either individually or as a class. .

I know some of you said that you would like the feedback on your work to be returned quicker. Your teachers are working very hard to get your feedback to you in good time and will continue to do so. As would be the normal expectation in school, not all pieces of work will have in depth feedback but your teachers will communicate to you what the key pieces of work for feedback will be and inform you of the suitable time frame for this return. Hopefully this will give you more clarity. Peer and self assessment methods will also be used as they would normally be in the classroom.

Finally, do ensure that you have some closure to your school day and try to relax after a hard days learning. That way we can all continue to learn better together. Your feedback is always valued and very much welcome so do keep talking to us.

Miss Doyle
